Citusdata starts our day with their announcement about “unforking” from PostgreSQL. They have been doing some very interesting work, so getting their technology back into the fold will be a good thing in the long term. On the Google Developers Blog, they talk about the Google API Console. This is just one step closer to a better, unified, user interface for their developers, and is a good move in the fight against Amazon. Allan Kelly gives us an excellent post about salvaging old code by using unit tests. Everyone knows you cannot rewrite old applications all of the time, sometimes you need to refactor around things or rearchitect modules. This post gives you some good advice on how to work through it.
As always, enjoy today’s items, and please participate in the discussions on these sites.
