We start our day with VentureBeat reporting on a new CDN available from Google. It is not huge news, but it is an interesting development for people building out scalable sites. Alvaro Videla has an excellent post on what people talk about when they are talking about distributed systems. Distributed systems are generally, highly complex environments and a lot of assumptions get made about what goes into that kind of thing. Flowing Data shows us some cool visualizations for maps. The post is based on “all roads lead to Rome”, but visualizations for other cities can be found as well.
As always, enjoy today’s items, and please participate in the discussions on these sites.
