Geek Reading December 3, 2015

Mozilla starts our day with a big post on privacy and protecting its users. There is not much in terms of new information, but it is good to see Mozilla take a stand. On Coding VC they talk about the 100-hour rule, as a different option than the 10000-hour rule. The reasoning is that you don’t need to typically master something and complete the 10000 hours. You can probably know more than most people if you just spend 100 hours on something. GitHub Engineering has an interesting post on what they have done to create their own “metal cloud”. It is a different perspective on scale when everyone seems to be using GCE or EC2.
