Another acquisition leads our day. RedHat is acquiring 3scale, an API Management company. I have worked with 3scale in the past and they were a pleasure to work with, so this is a great exit for them. Google Cloud Platform talks about a better way to bootstrap MongoDB on their platform. This is cool because tools that make a developer’s job easier are awesome. At DZone Agile, we get an excellent article on why companies find it hard to “give away code”. There is still the idea of code for competitive advantage regardless of whether it really could or should be an open source library. It is a very difficult shift to make for some companies.
