Leading our day, we have the announcement from the Google Cloud Platform about the general availability of custom machine types. This is very cool, and helps everyone using these platforms. I have always had a problem trying to choose the appropriate configuration for a new server. The Netflix Tech Blog started a series about how they recommend things for the world. This comes on the heels of announcing availability in many more countries. KD Nuggets gives us some interesting analysis of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Advanced Analytics Platforms. The visualization that shows the changes between years is especially interesting.
