Geek Reading January 29, 2016

Today we start with a surprise announcement that Parse is shutting down at the end of this year. This sounds fairly odd given the popularity of the product and the potential increase in developer attention that Facebook gets. I am sure many developers are hoping that the product is just being integrated into some Facebook offering. On Conversation Agent, Valeria Maltoni talks about how good ideas are born and get done. Generally it is an interesting read, but my focus was drawn to the concept of “an idea is a network”. That could help people think about things in a different manner. On Martin Fowler’s blog, we get an introduction to the basics of web application security. There is nothing really new here, but it is a solid article that is very approachable.
