Geek Reading January 13, 2016

It has been a while, so obviously it is time for another security issue to lead our day. On Motherboard, they talk about a flaw on ebay’s site that can allow someone to steal user’s passwords. It is a fairly simple hack as well, but it does require users to click a specific link so hopefully it has not been abused. Pyevolve has an excellent explanation of the technique used in the automatic colorization we saw a few days ago, convolutional hypercolumns. It is an advanced concept, but it is still very cool to see what people are trying to do. On KD Nuggets we have an interesting post on attention and memory in deep learning and NLP. This is another advanced concept for people not familiar with neural networks.
