Leading today we have another post about fear. In this case, the engineering blog at Teachers Pay Teachers talks about the fear of breaking things and how that affects culture. Anyone who has been in that kind of environment knows how toxic it can be. For all of you Java developers out there, DZone Java has a nice article on “jar hell”. I do believe that dependency management is important, but I am not sure what the next step would be. Once of the problems in this space is versioning of libraries. The Holy Java talks about libraries and whether we should always upgrade, never upgrade or upgrade when we decide it is a good idea.
As always, enjoy today’s items, and please participate in the discussions on these sites.
