This summer seems to be full of slow news weekends. Today we focus on startups. First, on Both Sides of the Table, Mark Suster talks about what he has learned about venture funding. At Andreessen Horowitz, they give us their 16 metrics that startups need to care about. Granted, some of the metrics may not apply to a typical internet startup, but getting a good idea of what you should pay attention to is always welcome. On the Subtraction Capital blog, they talk about subtraction yielding growth. The basic idea is that if you eliminate noise and focus on what you do well, that can help your startup grow. It sounds basic but I would guess that most startups struggle with this idea.
As always, enjoy today’s items, and please participate in the discussions on these sites.
