This is interesting because I just tried to update my blog information and it wouldn't up-date. Thanks for the post.

Norman

That is an interesting perspective. I had never used Technorati for the tagging and generating traffic, and maybe I was missing a good source. The new system is obviously new, and still needs some fine tuning. I am curious to see how it evolves over the next few months.

Actually, I think they broke their system and refuse to admit it.

For example, over a week has passed since my comment. My technorati page has not changed in over 12 days.

Now, that may not seem like much, but under their old regime, my technorati page could change on a whim. I could update thumbshots, look at tags, and I really got into following their advice on how to do things--and it was fabulous. I loved how integrating my tags with their tags brought me good readers. Not a lot of traffic, just people with genuine interest.

All of that is now gone. I see no evidence it even works anymore. I can't update, delete, or do anything. And I've not seen a single hit from technorati in this time.

That is a real shame, I know how hard it is to build technorati authority. The interesting part is that they may be ranking everyone in various categories, but they make it hard to find too.

I can't get my account and my information off Technorati fast enough. I maintain multiple blogs--ALL of my ranking authority went to the wrong blog, everything else has been ranked at 1 or 0, even the main site that I use as the "hub" of all other activity. Despite all of my efforts to play along with their system, they have effectively made it impossible for small bloggers like myself to use their service. I had gotten my authority numbers up gradually, and carefully, and I had worked very hard to use their tagging system.

All for naught. They may be going in the right direction for them but I'm not about to get burned like this a second time.
