Rob:

Well, I try to mix comedy with truth when I'm being brutally honest ;-)

But this is the reason why I don't subscribe to TC (I actually would say I hate TC), Mashable, AllThingsD, Gizmodo, etc.

I follow The Inquisitr (disclosure: I write for them about once a week) because, as you noted, they tend to be more realistic. *If* they cover crap like the @ Facebook or Google Flip, it's usually without the echo chamber view - and when they don't write about it, I usually don't want to hear about it.

I got out of "the game" two years ago because it pissed me off, and it's only gotten worse since then.

Glad I could make you laugh though!

Kyle,

That is definitely the funniest thing I have read today. Disappointingly, it is all too true.

Twitter, Google, and Facebook all have the same echo chamber PR channels. Every small move, no matter how sucky and random (like @ on Facebook), gets blown into "OMG LOL L00K @ DA GR8NESS!" by a bunch of blowhards that don't even typically understand the topics they're writing about.

It's sickening.
