I have always loved data mining, mainly because there are a lot of answers waiting to be found in large amounts of data. That being said, I know many of my readers probably do not know much about data mining, so I figured a really gentle introduction might be required. — From the page [...]

Kareem

Well, there is some demand, but it is not always for computer science types. A lot of times you hear about business types like quantitative analysis. For your graduate study, I would highly recommend you target something you really like because you will be spending a lot of time doing it. I have always been into data, so data mining was a very logical move for me.

Thanks for the article and the RSS feeds.

One question, Is there a real demand for data mining professionals? I'm going to start my graduate study in a few months and I'm still not decided which area I should specify in.

Thank you.
