Actually, I like the “asides” idea. I hadn’t really thought about that one. I could definitely see that as useful. Maybe even allowing people to twitter their comments to the blog post.

I’ll have to think about that some more.

I guess I “kinda get” twitter. I use it, as well as pownce, but more as a way to quick send a link to folks or just to give updates to my friends what I’m up to at certain times.

A good use of twitter is putting a feed in your sidebar, and calling it “Random Thoughts”. I did this for a while, but am currently re-formatting the blog and took it down temporarily. Twitter can be used very effectively in place of “Asides” in wordpress.

So, rather than post an entire article when it’s not warranted, I could post an aside through twitter.

There are more uses for the application than you might initially think, as you can update it from your browser, desktop, im program or phone - well, not for me, since I only use a phone for…get this…phone call…weird right?

You get the point. I couldn’t do a blog entry as fast through any of those mediums.

I think I got my point across. But I’ve been known to ramble.

I totally agree about the “room” issue. Once I was done writing this post I wondered if anything on my blog could have been written through twitter. I could not think of a way to do it.

Twitter only allows two sentences at a time. I see microblogging as a quick way of letting people know about a good resource or a fun site. But, as a blogger, it is not enough room to discuss important issues.

First, thank you for visiting. I am a regular reader and found your “end of Copyblogger” comment interesting. That and the reasons mentioned above caused me to write the post. I am glad to hear that nothing will happen to Copyblogger.

Just to be clear, I was only joking about Twitter killing Copyblogger. I would never abandon a blog or website platform for social networking.

The first is a media property that holds economic value. The second is just beneficial conversation.
