I think you would have to be a little lost if you do not belong to at least one or two of these sites. Me, I belong to as many as possible. Getting out there and networking is key to success. This is what all players in both Social Media and Social networks will tell you. I had my father "Google" my screen name the other day and he was surprised to see that I was almost everywhere. He sees that certain groups I run in have certain influences in a few sites. I tell people if you are not networking in the digital age then you are behind the times. Linked-In can land you with new career opportunities. Myspace and Facebook could either hurt or help you, depending on the content of your page.
